Viewing Interfaces on this Website

To view protein interfaces on this website you must have the Java Runtime Environment and Java3D installed on your system. JMiV is an extension of the Java Molecular View (JMV) and the setup procedure is the same and can be viewed at JMV Installation Guide.

Generating and Viewing Your Own Interfaces

You may wish to create your own embedded docking interfaces in addition to those available on the MAPS Web page. To do this you must download several Java applications that will 1) create the docking interface in three dimensional space, 2) embed the interface into 2D space, and 3) view the protein docking (not within the MAPS Web page). If this is not your goal then you do not need to perform the following.

To generate and view your own interface: ensure that the Java Runtime and Java3D are properly installed and then download either JMiV.zip or JMiV.tar and follow the instructions contained in README.TXT.

NOTE: The code in the above archives currently only works with Java versions up to 1.5 release 12.

NEW!! Beta release of experimental implementation that will work with Java 6. Currently only available for linux. Download: jmiv_exp_linux.tar
